Melvin Stanton
Commander - Navy

Melvin Stanton was born and raised in Corry PA. Graduating in 1987, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy at the age of 19.
 
He has served at numerous commands during his 15 years in service with the Navy. Being deployed 4 times to the Mediterranean Sea to defend freedom, preserve economic prosperity and to keep the seas open and free. Other deployments include the Caribbean Sea as to track refugees and drug runners. One of his tours includes in being deployed in hostile waters during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm from 1990-1991.
 
He transferred over to the U.S. Army in 2007. His 5 year enlistment included tours to South Korea, Ft. Hood, TX and served in Iraq under Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn.
 
He is a Bronze Legacy Life Member and served as Asst. Post Quartermaster from 2017-2018, Post Quartermaster from Fiscal Years 2018-2022. Currently as Post Commander.
 
His teamwork and dedication helped the Post achieve All- American for years 2017-2018, 2020-2021 and All- State for year 2021-2022.
