Arabia, Troy and his team trained the Kuwaiti Liberation Brigade and subsequently led
them back to Kuwait to liberate their homeland. During this operation, Troy was
awarded the Bronze Star and the Combat Infantryman's Badge. After redeploying to
Fort Campbell, KY, Troy was promoted to Sergeant First Class (E-7).

After four years with ODA 585, Troy attended Drill Sergeant school at Fort Leonard

years before attending the Operational and Intelligence Course. He was reassigned to
the 5th Special Forces Group, specifically ODA 533. After three years as a senior
weapons sergeant with ODA 533, Troy retired from the United States Army after 21
years of outstanding service.

After the military
After retiring from the army, Troy worked for DynCorp for 18 months to protect Afghan
President Hamid Karzai. He then joined Blackwater in Moyock, NC, where he
developed a high-threat protection program and trained contractors for state department
security. Troy deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan, providing close
protection for government entities and private citizens in combat zones for four years.
He continued with Blackwater as a senior instructor, training US government agencies
and special operations personnel for high-risk environments. After 21 more years, Troy
retired and relocated to Panama City, FL. He lived there for eighteen months before
moving to Cebu City in the Philippines, where he currently resides.
