Scott Stinson was born and raised in the village of Harrod, Ohio. He enlisted in the Navy in 1978. During his naval career, Scott has served on 5 different ships. Considered the Master of 2 of the vessels being deployed 7 times. All were completed with the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th Fleets which is to include the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Serving 22 years, retiring in 2000 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer.
